Puppets

Emmanuel's puppet group, Wide-Mouthed & Stringless, was formed in September 2006 by Marie Etchels. The group meets each Thursday evening to practice at Emmanuel Centre.

The group's aims are to communicate the gospel in a non-threatening way through songs and skits, and to minister to each other.

Performances take place in the church's all age services and the group have also performed at the Parish's outreach event, 'Springboard'; at the Woodley Carnival; the Woodley Winter Extravaganza; a retirement home; and also for a local scout group. They have also visited other churches and youth groups, including the Parish Church in Athy, Ireland.

Each year the group attends the European Puppet Ministry Festival held in Wokingham, where it has competed twice and on both occasions won a silver award.
