Giving to Emmanuel Church
Our heart is that we would be worshippers of Jesus Christ first and foremost, and because what we do with our money reveals a lot about us it's important we take time to think and pray about how God would have us use it for ourselves and for others.
As a church we want to encourage generous giving, not just in terms of money to the Church and christian organisations, but in all areas of our lives. We believe that this reveals the character of God, who in Christ out of His riches became poor so that we through His poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).
How Can I help?
In Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 16, he wrote to them setting our 4 principles of stewardship: "Every Sunday, each of you must put aside some money in proportion to what you have earned"

The worship, work and needs of the Church continue throughout the year, whether you're here or not. Budget your giving weekly or monthly according to your circumstances.
Universal
..each of you..
Each member of the Church family here at Emmanuel has a part to play.
Planned
..must put aside some money..
We all have to plan our daily lives to some degree. The church leadership agrees our annual plan, and we need to budget accordingly.
Proportionate
..in proportion to what you have earned..
This is the only fair way, whether our income is low or high. Those that have more money give more money.
