God's Gang

God's Gang is the collective term used to refer to all the Sunday children's groups at Emmanuel. Groups exist for babies through to 11 year olds and take place most Sunday mornings. The aims of God's Gang are:

  • To have fun together.
  • To encourage the children to know Jesus in a safe and happy environment.
  • To provide an opportunity for the children to support each other as they discover and explore their relationship with God.
  • To help the children apply what they learn in the Bible to their everyday lives.
  • To make time so that everyone can share their thoughts and feelings, and take time out for reflection.

The different God's Gang groups use various age-related methods of teaching. These include arts and crafts, songs, dramas, quizzes, cooking, written activities and prayers.

Themes vary widely but we try to follow the Christian calendar where possible. Children are encouraged to participate in our all-age services which are held monthly and there is usually no shortage of volunteers for this!

Additionally the children play a major part in our Christmas services and usually put together and participate in the nativity service each year.
