Welcome!

We are a lively, growing church and are one of three in the parish of Woodley, St. John the Evangelist in the Diocese of Oxford.

Sharing Life

As a church we believe that we can have a relationship with the living God because of Jesus Christ. We believe that when we respond to Jesus Christ and put our faith in His death and resurrection we are given a fresh start and can live a new life with God. This is good news! As a church we want to live that new life and share it with others.

Therefore as a church our vision is to be a people who:

  • share in the life of God
  • share our lives with one another
  • share God's life with others where He has placed us

As a church community we meet in Emmanuel Church Centre in Southlake Crescent. The real church is of course the people, and we are a large family of adults and young people and would love to welcome you to be part of us!

We hope that this website will give you some information about how we share life with God, with each other and with others.

Update!

In September we will be pleased to welcome Sean and Helen Riordan together with their two children Anna and Joel. Sean will be the new associate vicar with responsibility for Emmanuel. At present Sean is Acting Chaplin at St Paul's Tervuren in Belgium. He likes the outdoor life, plays basketball (he's 6'5") and enjoys sourcing communion wine.
