Who's Who?

Emmanuel Church is part of the parish of St John the Evangelist which includes St John's Church and Woodley Airfield Church. The vicar responsible for the parish is Eddie Marquez, who is based at St John's Church.

We are currently in the process of looking for a new associate vicar who will be based at Emmanuel. In the meantime, Lyn Comerford who is a non-stipendiary minister is overseeing Emmanuel Church working with the Prayer and Planning Team. The Prayer and Planning Team meets monthly and reports to the Parish Church Council.

The Prayer and Planning Team meets monthly to pray for Emmanuel and to plan together for the present and future of the church community. The Team reports to the PCC which includes representatives from St. John's and Woodley Airfield Church. Minutes from the Team meetings are displayed on the notice board.

Plans are being considered for the existing set-up to be modified to a DCC arrangement within the Emmanuel and St John's Churches. It is felt that this will give a greater flexibility whilst still enabling the PCC to do the job intended. Both churches have Prayer and Planning Teams which, in due course, will sit comfortably into the DCC pattern. The PCC meets every month and the Prayer and Planning Teams shadow this arrangement.
